Methadone Treatment: not available

Methadone is not available on the Chadian pharmaceutical market. Treatment might be possible only under the condition that foreign travellers bring in the amount of their medication required for the period of stay (cp. Importation of Methadone).

Importation of Methadone: maybe possible

Bringing methadone into Chad would only be accepted under the condition that the patient's home prescriber contacts a local physician who would be prepared to continue treatment. The local GP would have to receive the methadone immediately after the patient's arrival at the airport. It is important to stress that, to date, there has not been one single case of methadone importation. Therefore, we strongly advise intending travellers to contact a Chadian embassy or consulate well in advance of their journey.
