Methadone prescribers are advised to contact
the General Director of the Clínica Nuevo Despertar well in
advance of their patients' expected date of arrival in Ecuador to
clarify necessary formalities, treatment costs and modalities and
to provide sufficient time for arrangements to be made by the
clinic.
Importation of Methadone: import regulations could not be clarified
Therefore, travellers wishing to bring
methadone into Ecuador for personal use as medication are
strongly advised to contact an Ecuadorean embassy or consulate
well in advance of their intended journey.
